Playa Saladita

Playa Saladita is a hidden gem on Mexico’s Pacific coast — a quiet, palm-fringed beach community known primarily for its warm waters and legendary left point break. Revered by surfers of all levels, Saladita offers long, mellow waves that can peel for hundreds of yards, earning it the nickname "The Wave Machine." But even for non-surfers, the appeal is undeniable: wide sandy beaches, unforgettable sunsets, and a tranquil, laid-back atmosphere that invites you to slow down and breathe deeply.

There’s no big resort scene here — just a handful of beachfront homes, cozy restaurants, and dirt roads lined with coconut palms. Life in Saladita moves to the rhythm of the tide. Whether you're surfing, swimming, birdwatching, or simply relaxing with your feet in the sand, it’s a place that keeps visitors coming back year after year.

Getting Here

Playa Saladita is located about 45 minutes north of Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa International Airport (ZIH), which offers direct flights from major cities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. After landing, it’s a scenic drive along the coast and through mango groves and local villages to reach the beach. Rental cars are readily available at the airport, or we can help arrange private transportation upon request.

The nearby towns of Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa (around 40 minutes) offer additional restaurants, shopping, cultural events, and nightlife if you’re looking for a day trip or a taste of city life — but most of our guests prefer the peace and simplicity of Saladita. It’s a place where time slows down, and nature takes center stage.
